Glitter and Sequins on a dress add some magic to the scene, but simple black and white never gets old. This year black is the new black! We have gotten some really fantastic styles this prom season that make black and white give the array of colored dresses out there a run for their money. One of my favorites is the Jovani 8849200 prom dress. These black and white polka dots are very dramatic and with no doubt they make a statement. A new twist on a classic look is our Mischa Barton inspired celebrity tuxedo dress. This dress turned heads at the Vanity Fair post-Oscar party, and it is bound to do the same for you at your prom! While we have many other dichromatic gowns to gander at the last one I will mention here is Favana's classic 5926 prom dress. This dress has a full skirt and fitted bodice; perfect for those of you looking for that touch of whimsy and all around elegant appeal.

Bright is Right
Red, royal, fuchsia, orange, magenta, and green, all bright, vibrant colors, are big hits for prom 2007.
The season has just begun, but intense hues are having a big impact. These rich tones are usually seen in silk satin because silk dyes so beautifully. There is a bright, happy color that is right for every girl's coloring and this is a great year to wear one. These bright vibrant colors, often called jewel tones, are best when the cut is simple. You can choose sexy, elegant, clasic, or funky. all are great in eye-popping color.
Many of the best jewel-toned dresses have gold bead or rhinestone accents. We especially like the styles from Jovani that feature silk satin with liquid gold beading. Jovani prom style 10627 features a back open to the waist accented with 2 inch wide liquid gold crossed straps and gold banding around the waist. The gold liquid beads are a beautiful accent for the bright jewel-toned satin.
Jovani prom style # 10628 has a very wide band of liquid gold beading cinching the waist and midrif of a flowing high slit silk satin gown. The high slit in the bright satin skirt shows a flash of sexy leg and a sparkling gold shoe from Alisha Hill.

Color, color, color! That's what it's all about. Knowing what color you look best in is a great way to start looking for prom dresses. This season the runway has given us a lot of different options to work with (that is, if you want to stick to the catwalk's opinion). We will be seeing silver grays, reds, blues, greens, golds, and purples. The strongest colors? Red, gold, silver, and blue all are brilliant this season.

Finally, a romantic themed dress is another great option. A romantic dress may incorporate either an empire or halter top bodice, exotic prints, and a full length skirt.
