If you are really organized and really creative you can plan a whole theme for prom from before and after activities to how you ask a girl to prom and have it all coordinate. Lets use just one example of how this would work. You could ask a girl to prom by having a royal messenger or page read a proclamation to her dressed in full renaissance garb. You could go to a jousting event for your day activity and then pick her up in your suit of armor (which you would then remove later for comfort and be dressed in your tux or even royal robes) while riding a white horse. This might not work in some areas such as a large city but you get the idea.
